Can't Have You

So, a lot of people know that I decided not to make a New Year's Resolution. Instead, I gave myself one goal for the year...meet the Jonas Brothers no matter what it takes. Today I'm doing my daily website check (which includes way too many celeb gossip sites) and the following message is on my FFE (fanfamilyexperience.com, a Jonas fan networking site)

Win an opportunity to rock out on the red carpet with The Jonas Brothers and your three closest friends at the World Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience". On February 24th in Hollywood, California, you will have a front row seat as the celebrities and talent make their way into the theatre. The Jonas Brothers will randomly select a few lucky contestants and their friends to go inside and see the show! A live DJ, prizes and giveaways, and the bragging rights of seeing the show first are just added bonuses to this high energy, once-in-a-lifetime event. The contest is open to all fans! Please reply to studiospecialevents@disney.com. Include your full name, contact phone number, and email address. Winners will be chosen in the order they are received and will be notified by an email confirmation. Limit one entry per person.

So I took a chance and sent in my name, phone number, and email address, just on the off chance that something would happen. I went to class, not giving any of it a second thought.

I get back from my writing class this afternoon and the following email is in my inbox.

Thank you very much for your entry to be on the red carpet at the World Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience". The Premiere is at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California. Please confirm that you will be able to attend. Travel and transportation are not included with the red carpet passes. Thank you so much!

My heart starts racing, my mind trying to process all of that. I'm pretty sure I read it about ten times. I immediatly start looking up flights and hotel rooms in LA. What I found was the worst. It would cost me upwards of $250+ for a roundtrip to LA, then I would have to take someone with me because I'm not going to that crazy city alone!

I'm sorry boys, as much as that would be my dream come true, a poor college student like me can't afford $500+ dollars to make her dreams come true. I guess that just means that, at least this time, it's not meant to be.
