I'm Burnin' Up for you baby...

Monday Night! That means I'm blowing off my homework to watch all my favorite shows: The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Kyle XY, and The City. Just call me addicted. I literally yell at people for disturbing me between 7-9:30. It only gets worse on Tuesday nights with 90210. I'm hopeless. Oh well, I don't mind.

What else have I been up to today? I was in class all day. That's always fun. Today was Health, Spanish I, and Creative Writing. Spanish is getting ready to kill me. I've got a ton of online homework due by midnight and this last part of it is listening and answering questions. FUN!! not! Hopefully I'll get through it. Just gotta have patience. Creative Writing has got to be the best class ever. I love it. We read and then discuss the stories in class. What we liked, what we disliked. What the author meant by this or that. How it relates to the world today. Usually afterwards we have free write time, but it's usually related to the type of story we read for class that day. Like today, we had to write about a stereotype that isn't what you would expect, like the couple who's having an affair and doesn't expect to fall in love. This is what I got out of it. Excuse the errors, I didn't edit it. Just wrote.

He never meant to fall in love with her, that wasn't part of the game. Love'em and Leave'em. That was his style, always had been. He'd never been one to want commitment in a relationship or even get close to the girl. Stay around long enough for them to fall for him then drop them faster than they could say "I love you." He couldn't understand what made her different from all the other girls he had wooed. He really wanted this to work. He was willing to put away his player tactics if it meant keeping her. But would she stay when she found out that she had originally been just a game to him? That when they first met he had no intention of having a serious relation ship with her? He was sure if she would just listen to him, she would understand, maybe forgive him.

The funny thing was, she knew all about this. She wasn't blind to his reputation. She had kept her distance for a while, but couldn't help that she was attracted to him, more attracted than she should be. She knew it would only end in a broken heart. Recently though there had been a subtle change in his behavior that made her think that he saw her differently than all the rest.

Grammys Sunday! Who's watching? I will be! I'm trying to plan a watch party since my boys are nominated for their FIRST Grammy! I'm so proud of the Jonas Brothers and they totally deserve to win in my opinion. They've got some stiff competition for Best New Artists. It's hard trying to plan a watch party in a college dorm room. Oh well, we'll make it as interesting and entertaining as possible. I've got some cute finger foods picked out and of course, Jonas Brothers will be on shuffle during the commercials. I'm working on a ballot right now, so all of us can make our guesses about who will win each catagory. There's a possibility that we'll make the dress code High Heels/Red Dress. I think that would be really cute. Just a fun way for all my new Jonas friends together to support our boys. I'll let you guys know how it goes

So, in honor of the Grammy nomination, I'm closing this blog with some lyrics to Burnin' Up

I'm hot
You're cold
You go around Like you know
Who I am
But you don't
You've got me on my toes

I'm sinkin' into the lava
And I'm tryin' to keep from going under
Baby, who turned the temperature hotter
'Cause I'm burnin' up
Burnin' up for you baby

C'mon girl

I fell (I fell)
So fast (so fast)
Can't hold myself... Back
High heels (high heels)
Red dress (red dress! )
All by yourself
Gotta catch my breath!

I'm sinkin' into the lava
And I'm tryin' to keep from going under
Baby, you turned the temperature hotter
'Cause I'm burnin' up Burnin' up for you baby

Walk in the room
All I can see is you
Oh, starin' me down
I know you feel it too
I'm sinkin' into the lava
And I'm tryin' to keep from going under
Baby, you turn the temperature hotter
'Cause I'm burnin' up
Burnin' up for you baby
Love,
Jen
