So, when I originally started my blog, it was meant to be a view into my life: what I was up to as a college student, a 20-something, just trying to live her dreams. It seems like lately I've gotten away from that. I honestly don't know why. I love my informational blogs, but I love telling you guys about my life even more.
Recently I've been snowed in for 3-4 days out of the last 2 weeks. That's really rare for us here in the south to actually have a foot plus of snow on the ground. and have it be actual snow and not ice. When it first started I was as excited as the next person. I bundled up and played in it with my dog. By day 4...or was it 5...I was BEGGING for it to melt so i could get back to school, just so I could get out of the house. It all just needs to go away and summer needs to come. like tomorrow would be nice.
saw Dear John last Sunday. O.M.G. soooooooooooooooooo amazing!!! Channing Tatum & Amanda Seyfried were the perfect John & Savannah. I couldn't have cast the movie any better. I cried through almost the entire movie, which I don't do very often. I thought it stuck pretty close to the book, even though the ending was a bit different. I liked how it was left up to the viewer to decide if they got the happy ending or not.
The 2010 Winter Olympics started on Friday. I'm not usually a sports fanatic...ok...so I kinda am, don't ask me where I get it from because no one else in my family watches sports or follows teams like I do. Did anyone else see the AMAZING win in the men's 1500m short track speed skating?! talk about a stroke of luck for America. I seriously thought the Koreans were going to sweep the entire thing and then to have to of their skaters whip out coming around the last turn allowing Apolo Ohno & J.R. Celski to finish silver & bronze?! Absolutely amazing!
Hannah Kearney won America's first gold medal of the games for the women's moguls. Before Saturday I had never seen or even heard of the event, and was blown away by the competitors in this sport. Hannah's run was absolutely amazing. I watched her interview this morning on GMA. It had me in tears. She is such an inspiration. If you work hard enough and really dedicate your time and effort to something it will pay off in the end.
Saw Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief after school today with the little brother. As I was getting ready for class this morning, he came in the bathroom and asked if I would go see it with him. How could an older sister say no to that? I asked if he was paying and he said he only had enough money to pay for him. So dang adorable! :) The movie was amazing and I can't believe I have never heard of the books! They're totally something I would read. I couldn't help but watch and catch all the Harry Potter references in the film. A half blood child finding out a great secret about them self during the teen years. A "spirit guide", friends are a girl & 2 guys...girl is smarter and more skilled than the boys. Antagonist is another "student"...a special school or in this case, camp, to train those like Percy.... Seriously this list could go on and on and on. It was an awesome movie though and it makes me wonder if there's any talk of making the rest of the books movies. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them.
That's it for now. I'm gonna finish watching the pairs figure skating tonight then go to bed.
Stay positive guys! It's been a rough week, but I know we can pull through. You guys are the best. No duh!
