Time For Me To Live...

This year is going to be the one that changes my life. I can feel it. For the first time ever my life has a purpose and a reason. When I was in high school I always had goals, but I was never serious about them. I would start things and never finish them or lose interest and give up half way through. This time though, I want this to work out so bad I can taste it. I'm so driven to make my dreams come true to really live my life.

I started looking at internships this weekend. Makes sense since I'm in my last semester as a college sophomore and most places want you to start internships in your junior year. It also makes total sense that, if I wanna work in the music industry the first place I should look is the record labels of some of my favorite bands. Then I remembered, "WAIT! Pete Wentz has a record label!!" So over to Decaydance I raced to do my research. As I surfed the site the same feeling came over me as when I decided my future laid in public relations & management. Something just clicked and it felt right.

So, this is the plan. Set small goals each month that will help me when I go to apply for the internship at the end of the year. By accomplishing these small goals I hope to have more of an edge on the competition.

January Goals:

1. find a job!!
2. study! study! study!
3. save $200

You guys are gonna have to keep an eye on me and make sure I actually am working on them. If you catch me tweeting or blogging too much, yell at me! Tell me to go study! Just help keep me on task & focused. I think I can do it and hope you guys have faith in me too.

Haha very effective Jen! It reminds me of the 10-10 rule I learned in high school. Do your study time ((or really anything else)) in blocks of 10 minutes.
For instance:
10 minutes of study
10 minutes of twitter
10 minutes of writing an essay
10 minutes of facebook
and etc.

Granted, it's only REALLY helpful when you're feeling stressed. Any other time its better to trudge on with your important stuff before playtime.

Congratulations Jen! So excited to see you accomplish your dreams!
